Scallops with ginger for me.' Try also seafood or asparagus.

Structured and characterful tannins from a stylish use of oak are balanced by good fruit and a tingling acidity, with hints of bitter chocolate and vanilla on a lengthy finish.

While some felt this was still youthful with much potential ahead, others enjoyed the here and now.'Unctuous richness of fruit on a layered palate,' said team leader, Angela Reddin. Tobacco, chocolate, spicy nutmeg, leather, dried herbs, liquorice, smoked meat - they are all there, alongside soft red cherries and violets. Ready for most flavourful dishes, try with lamb shank.

Fantastic for game and rich-flavoured meat dishes,' said Julien Sahut of China Tang.

Meanwhile, match with lamb, steak and hearty meat dishes.
Completing a hat-trick of CAM Golds for Argentina is the Pasionado. Light, delicate, juicy, supple, bright and elegant, this offers a fragrant mix of herbs and spices. ‘With good complexity and layers of flavour, this is drinking well now but has the ability to age, offering a lot of wine, a lot of flavour, and a great choice with grilled meats,' said a happy Gabor Foth of Hakkasan Hanway Place.
